Easily one of the most accomplished hip hop figures ever, Jay-Z continues to push the envelop. Word came out yesterday that he will be curating a two day music festival in Philadelphia, titled the Budweiser Made in America Music Festival. Yup, you got it right — his SXSW show was sponsored by AMEX and now he’s curating(and headlining) a music festival sponsored by Budweiser. A public announcement is supposed to be made today by Jay-Z alongside the mayor of Philadelphia. The music will apparently be a combination of rock, hip-hop, R&B, latin and dance.

Very few of us will ever reach the level of success that Jay-Z has, so what can we draw from this? I think it’s important for us to remember than anything actually is possible. We actually can do things that are so great, that no one has ever done before; there’s no reason to ever set the bar low. At the same time though, we have to take the small steps necessary to get there.
